I've always known that I'm a "creative" though I certainly did not have the vocabulary to express it, nor did life allow me to pursue it at an early age. I am self taught, occasionally taking workshops and experimenting with different mediums.

My process is intuitive for about 60%...then my painting takes shape and I work with full intention. My medium of choice is encaustic, which allows for infinite variation. I also work in cold wax when "fire" is not permitted. 

I find beauty in the imperfect...rust, sap, crevices in rocks. When looking closely I see fascinating patterns, colors that are intriguing. This can be the inspiration and starting point of an entire piece. It may be visible in the end or not.

Experimentation is my "life blood". I love the unknown and letting the piece take on a life of its own. Then, like a gem, I polish and chose the setting. It is a joyful ending that has a piece of me. What a privilege to do what I do.
